EcoVadis Sustainability Assessments are a common requirement for suppliers to larger organisations.

EcoVadis is a sustainability rating service operating through an online platform, evaluating companies on a range of non-financial management systems including environmental impact, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Along with a CDP submission, companies are often required to go through this process as part of a supplier eligibility or tender process. Not having an EcoVadis rating can impact your ability to work with larger organisations.
The assessment is based on 21 sustainability criteria across four themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The evaluations use several of data sources, including company-provided documentation, third-party certifications, and external stakeholder inputs. The results are compiled into scorecards with scores ranging from 0 to 100, along with medals (bronze, silver, gold) to recognise levels of achievement
The process is responsive to company type which means that you do not have to report on indicators that are not likely to be present within your industry sector.
The most common starting point is the completion of the EcoVadis questionnaire.
