Expert-led Whole Life Carbon Assessments (WLCA) for UK and International building and infrastructure projects.

We support Contractors, Architects and Design Teams with achieving their carbon reduction objectives. A Whole Life Carbon Assessment (WLCA) is a methodology by which it is possible to measure the whole-life carbon emissions of a building or infrastructure project.
We provide reduction strategies and reporting following industry standard schemes including RICS and BREEAM. For infrastructure projects we can support with the WLCA requirements of PAS 2080.
Why conduct a Whole Life Carbon Assessment?
By measuring the embodied carbon of buildings and infrastructure, contractors and developers can meet government and client demands for accurate and consistent reporting of embodied carbon.
Investors and lenders are able to assess carbon impacts of an asset throughout its life cycle, this helps promote low-carbon building and infrastructure investments.
Why choose Blue Marble to help with WLCA?
We work extensively in the built environment and construction sector, so we are intimately familiar with sector requirements.
We can support with:
- Early stage feasibility studies, and project baselining at the outset of a project
- Achieving BREEAM credits associated with WLCA
- Compliance with Greater London Authority requirements. These apply to buildings within London with a certain footprint and certain number of stories, which require a WLCA at 3 stages of the project (necessary for planning permission)
- Architects and design teams looking to understand how they can reduce the impact of their projects
- Architects, Contractors or Developers looking for WLCA across their whole project portfolio for benchmarking, or to meet ESG targets and calculate scope 3 emissions
