Introduction
Smarti Environmental has developed a waterless urinal unit which can be installed into new buildings or retrofitted with existing plumbing. The combination of new technology and enzyme cleaners is more hygienic and lower in maintenance than water-based solutions. Extensive research has allowed them to develop the SteriKleen enzyme cleaner and SteriKlear enzyme pods, both of which play a pivotal role in the workings of the waterless urinal system. The enzymes work to break down the waste, ensuring that by the time the liquid reaches the sewage system, it will have a minimal impact on the pipework and associated sewage systems.
Action Taken
Smarti Environmental has committed to undertake the following initiatives to reduce their carbon footprint:
- Increase use of digital meetings to reduce business travel
- Purchase hybrid cars to use these in preference to personal cars
- Encourage working from home to minimise office use
- Move production to UK suppliers to shorten distance travelled
