A turnkey solution to producing EPDs, training and ongoing sustainability support

In 2023, Grant Westfield commissioned Blue Marble to conduct a life cycle assessment study on the Multipanel product and produce an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) in accordance with EN 15804+A2.

A single EPD was produced covering the product which comprises an exterior grade MDF core with decorative high-pressure laminates to the front, and a balancing laminate to the rear. The EPD covers the full-lifecycle, from Cradle-to-Grave, and accounts for all use phase impacts over a reference service life of 30 years.

Following the publication of the EPD, Blue Marble offered a bespoke briefing session to members of the Multipanel business development team focusing on how to interpret the EPD and how to discuss the implications with potential customers. A Blue Marble Client Guide to EPDs was developed as an aide-memoir for the business development teams to use.

Multipanel has recently shifted energy supply to 100% renewable energy. This improvement initiative will be reflected in an updated EPD which Grant Westfield intends to publish with Blue Marble in Q3 2024.
